Yearbook 2 alternates between one-offs like the gentle summertime pop of their remake of the Shout Out Louds' Impossible- the most conservative cut here and a sort of staple Studio remix sound: mysterious, almost dark disco grooves populated by glistening synthesizers and glittering shards of the duo's trademark guitar. But it's the absence of Studio-as-themselves which ultimately makes Yearbook 2 a less captivating experience than its predecessor. Studio's second Yearbook compilation is a collection of their remixes for other artists, rather than their own material, but their transformations are so thorough and their distinctive sonic fingerprints so prevalent that this is as good a place as any to get acquainted with the Swedish duo's lush, languorous style.
