Alien Love Secrets is an EP by guitarist Steve Vai, released on March 21, 1995, through Relativity Records. The EP reached No. 125 on the U. Billboard 200 and remained on that chart for two weeks, as well as reaching No. 72 on the Dutch albums chart. Alien Love Secrets was written and recorded in less than six weeks as a stripped-down guitar, bass and drums record with minimal keyboards. I was working on Fire Garden then still tentaively titled Fire Coma and knowing that it was going to be a very detailed and in-depth record, I stopped in the middle and wrote and recorded Alien Love Secrets in less than 6 weeks. The approach was to make it simple with no overdubs, just guitar on a silver platter, with bass, drums and minimal keyboards to fill out some sections.
