Stanley also won a Grammy Award in 2011 for Best Contemporary Jazz Album, The Stanley Clarke Band, with Ruslan Sirota and Ronald Bruner, Jr. featuring pianist Hiromi, and was also nominated for the No Mystery cut as Best Pop Instrumental Performance. The same year, Stanley won a Latin Grammy for Best Instrumental Album with Forever, along with group members Chick Corea and Lenny White. Forever went on to win the 2012 Grammy award for Best Instrumental Album. In a historic first, Artist in Residence Stanley Clarke, accompanied by a band and the 50-piece Detroit String Orchestra, closed the festival with the world premiere of the live performance of his score from the 1991 John Singleton film Boyz in the Hood. At approximately 55 minutes long, and with Detroit's downtown office buildings as a backdrop and the ensemble playing in sync with clips from the film, the presentation was a moving and cathartic experience for the crowd at the Carhartt Amphitheater in Hart Plaza - packed despite a 90-minute weather delay
