With a career that started in the 1940's in wartime big bands, Tracey has been described as the grand old man of British modernism. He has lived and worked through every rise and fall in British jazz's fortunes over the past 60 years and has contributed more creative music to its successive periods than any other figure, as both composer and performer. The album also has Stan's own composition 'See Meenah Latino' which features some great drumming by Clark Tracey. My favourite track is a typically spikey but beautifully played version of Willow Weep for Me. Stan Tracey Trio released it on the album For All We Know in 2006.
