Spandau Ballet's album Gold' is really all that Gold has all the great tracks from the 80's & 90's. When I first opened the album I was thrilled to see a six page cover insert with photos of the Spandau gang from their early teen years and an intriguing band biography. The tracks Gold' and True' are my favorite tracks because they have a smooth glowing glam-pop sound bursting with Kemp's retro-whining vocal style which is indicative of the early 80's. At time of writing this is the best sounding Spandau Ballet single disc compilation. As an added bonus it also includes a dvd with a generous helping of their classic promo films. By the time Gold emerged in 2000, Spandau Ballet had gone the full circle, from hip young new romantic things, to pop-soul chart-toppers, to rock burnouts, to unexpected influences, to golden oldies. Dawn memorably revamped True for their own smash, Set Adrift on Memory Bliss, in the early '90s and Negativland did their own tweak with True for their TrueFalse tour in 2000
