Short intro

Shoot from the Hip is the second studio album by British singer and songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor. It was released on 27 October 2003 by Polydor Records, and was produced by Gregg Alexander, Matt Rowe, Jeremy Wheatley and Damian LeGassick. The album was released in Europe in October 2003, but little interest was generated outside the United Kingdom, where the album peaked at number 19 on the UK Albums Chart, with the exception of Switzerland, where it peaked at number 35 on the Swiss Albums Chart. Read My Lips is the debut studio album by English singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor. It was released on 27 August 2001 by Polydor Records. After the disbandment of the Britpop group Theaudience, in which Ellis-Bextor served as vocalist, she was signed to Polydor. Prior to the LP's completion, the singer collaborated with several musicians, including band Blur's bassist Alex James, Moby and New Radicals frontman Gregg Alexander. The record was described as a collection of 1980s electronica and 1970s disco music. Pop Dance-Pop. Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Songs in album Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Shoot From The Hip 2003. The British singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor made in 1998 a plate as a singer of the Brit pop group The Audience but was only really known for her vocal contribution on the summer hit of 2001: Groovejet If This Ain't Love of the Italian DJ Spiller. By the limited success of The Audience was a solo career before hand. Her adaptation of Chers Take Me Home was a big hit in England. The final breakthrough came only in Netherlands with the catchy single Murder On The Dance floor. Since then Sophie released a debut album, Read My Lips, packed full of hits. Murder On The Dancefloor and Get Over You will be stuck in brains all over the world forever. But how has she fared in her follow-up, Shoot From The Hip Opening track Making Music maybe a disco charger but, as the words inform us, this is Making music by numbers. Things improve with the hit single Mixed Up World. It's a combination of the best 80s PWL creations, with a superb little humming riff. And Sophie's pop-philosophy is inspiring - Reme

I am convinced that this CD is a bootleg and belongs under the heading/label Polydor (2). From the skimpy 4 page insert (which just reprints the 'Shoot' pictures in B&W, with NO liner notes or credits) to the strange matrix number, no SID details, no 'Made in Germany' or variant on the CD rim etc. The cat no is not listed on the spine as is normal. Also, both the cat no AND the barcode are IDENTICAL to the standard European CD pressing of the 'Shoot From The Hip' album (and the barcode doesn't run out of the box as on official Polydor releases). The printing also isn't as crisp.
Finally, I can find no trace of this release (for sale or listed) anywhere but on Discogs? What do others think?
