Sky 3 is the third album by EnglishAustralian instrumental progressive rock band Sky, released in 1981. It reached number three in the British Albums chart. It was the first album recorded after Francis Monkman's departure from the group, with Steve Gray replacing him on keyboards. Sky 3' saw keyboardist Steve Gray's entry in Sky's line-up in replacement of Francis Monkman. This factor lead to the instillation of a slightly yet clearly jazzier feel into the band's sound. The band were formed in 1979 and featured the talents of guitarist John Williams, percussionist Tristan Fry, legendary bass player Herbie Flowers, Curved Air founder Francis Monkman on keyboards later replaced by Steve Gray and guitarist Kevin Peek. This clamshell box set contains all seven studio albums issued over a nine-year period with all audio remastered from the original master tapes.
