Short intro
Angela Hewitt. Kuriose Geschichte. Robert Schumann. The formal clarity of Hewitt's playing, together with the crispness of her articulation, gets her a long way in the sonata, whose technical demands are not to be underesti. This album has an average beat per minute of 97 BPM slowestfastest tempos: 63169 BPM. Album starts at 129BPM, ends at 88BPM -41, with tempos within the 63-169BPM range. Angela Hewitt has made a seamless and very successful transition from Bach to Schumann with her usual poise, precision, imagination and humanity. The Davidsbündlertänze are, even by Schumanns standards, a poetic masterpiece. Hewitt is across every nuance, capturing the strangely off-centre melody of the first dance, the even stranger syncopation of the tarantella No 6 and the jolly polka of No 12 to perfection. In the penultimate number, Wie aus der Ferne As from afar the melody starts without a break from the previous section and then develops into a melancholy ländler. Similarly in the Davidsbündlertänze Hewitts expressive niceties stem naturally from the expressive implications of the music. The contrasts between the more impulsive and the more introspective numbers are clearly made in this set of pieces that encapsulate the two sides of Schumanns personality. The G minor Sonata demands not only dexterity, power and finesse but also an insight into its mix of ardour and lyricism, all of which Hewitt harnesses in a performance that gloriously caps an exceptional recital. Kinderszenen, Op. 15: VII. Träumerei, 02:43. Davidsbündlertänze, Op. 6: XII. Mit Humor, 00:42. Angela Hewitt has earned a richly deserved reputation for her interpretations of Bach and the Baroque, and something of that characteristic clarity illuminates her Schumann performances. Her first disc of this repertoire was praised for its seemingly effortless but always adventurous interpretation. The Sonata No. 2 in G minor Op. 22 is classic Schumann - a maze of thick textures of expansiveness and passion contrasted with rapt tenderness. Frankly, I wish I could play as she does. I bought this album because I wanted to hear her take on the Davidsbündlertänze and am very happy that I did. Schumann is a marvelous composer and is not played enough nowadays. Angela Hewitt Canadian classical pianist from 2009-11-06 until 2009-11-09. Piano Sonata no. 2 in G minor, op. So rasch wie möglich - Schneller - Noch schneller from 2009-11-06 until 2009-11-09. composer: Robert Schumann German classical composer from 1831 until 1838. part of: Piano Sonata no. 22: II. Andantino getragen. Packaging: Jewel Case. Robert Schumann's early piano works were substantially influenced by his relationship with Clara Wieck. On September 5, 1839, Schumann wrote to his former professor: She was practically my sole motivation for writing the Davidsbündlertänze, the Concerto, the Sonata and the Novellettes. They are an expression of his passionate love, anxieties, longings, visions, dreams and fantasies. The theme of the Davidsbündlertänze is based on a mazurka by Clara Wieck. The intimate character pieces are his most personal work. Kreisleriana, Op. Sonata No. 2 in G minor, Op. 3 in F minor, Op. 14 Concerto without orchestra.
