I've Been My Own Worst Friend. Fotheringay Live at The Our Own Work is a studio album by Sandy Denny and the Strawbs. Recorded in 1967 but not released until 1973, it contains an early recording of one of Sandy Denny's best known songs Who Knows Where the Time Goes. The three lead singers-Dave Cousins, Tony Hooper and Denny-was a great idea in the 1960s remember the Beatles and would be a signature of many later Strawbs releases. Back in 74-75 I went into a record store and saw All Our Own Work by Sandy Denny and the Strawbs. Thankfully I purchased it. I never saw it again in a store in CT. Sandy Denny And The Strawbs was the subsequent name given to an early version of English folk-rock band Strawbs that featured English folk singer and songwriter Sandy Denny subsequently in Fairport Convention and Fotheringay. In their early days, Strawbs worked with Denny and, while in Copenhagen, Denmark, in July 1967, they recorded 13 songs, some of which were for a proposed first album, All Our Own Work. The album was re-released as Sandy Denny and the Strawbs in 1991, with slightly revised tracks. All Our Own Work' represents the earliest studio work of the Strawbs, shortened from the Strawberry Hill Boys around the same time band leader Dave Cousins heard the young and aspiring singer-songwriter Sandy Denny at an acoustic folk show and promptly convinced her to join the group.
