Short intro
I've Been My Own Worst Friend. Fotheringay Live at The Our Own Work is a studio album by Sandy Denny and the Strawbs. Recorded in 1967 but not released until 1973, it contains an early recording of one of Sandy Denny's best known songs Who Knows Where the Time Goes. Denny later recorded this song as a member of Fairport Convention. On My Way Dave Cousins 3:03. Who Knows Where the Time Goes Sandy Denny 4:04. Tell Me What You See in Me Cousins 3:38. Sandy Denny Strawbs - Tell Me What You See In Me. Sandy Denny Strawbs - Always On My Mind. Sandy Denny Strawbs - Stay Awhile. Denny's short tenure with the Strawbs made their album together, All Our Own Work, something of an orphan in both of their catalogs, but it's a fine record that shows both Denny and Cousins to their advantage. Sandy Denny & The Strawbs - All Our Own Work: The Complete Sessions 2010 came out legitimately on CD from Witchwood Media, with bonus tracks and unreleased material. In 2014 a vinyl 2LP version of the CD was released under licence by vinyl specialist Numerophon. Please see Complete Sessions page. As legend has it, Dave Cousins saw Sandy Denny at the Troubadour folk club in west London one night, and immediately invited her to join the band. All Our Own Work Tracklist. On My Way Lyrics. Who Knows Where the Time Goes Ft. All Our Own Work Q&A. Featuring Artist Strawbs. The Strawbs found Sandy Denny to record this album, which combines elements of folk, bluegrass and rock music. The three lead singers-Dave Cousins, Tony Hooper and Denny-was a great idea in the 1960s remember the Beatles and would be a signature of many later Strawbs releases. Back in 74-75 I went into a record store and saw All Our Own Work by Sandy Denny and the Strawbs. Thankfully I purchased it. I never saw it again in a store in CT. Sandy Denny And The Strawbs was the subsequent name given to an early version of English folk-rock band Strawbs that featured English folk singer and songwriter Sandy Denny subsequently in Fairport Convention and Fotheringay. In their early days, Strawbs worked with Denny and, while in Copenhagen, Denmark, in July 1967, they recorded 13 songs, some of which were for a proposed first album, All Our Own Work. The album was re-released as Sandy Denny and the Strawbs in 1991, with slightly revised tracks. All Our Own Work' represents the earliest studio work of the Strawbs, shortened from the Strawberry Hill Boys around the same time band leader Dave Cousins heard the young and aspiring singer-songwriter Sandy Denny at an acoustic folk show and promptly convinced her to join the group.
