We the Generation is the second studio album by British drum and bass band Rudimental. The album was released on 2 October 2015, although the album leaked online a week prior to its release. The album contains a number of collaborations with singers Will Heard and Anne-Marie, as well as appearances from Ed Sheeran, Lianne La Havas, Dizzee Rascal, Foy Vance, Ella Eyre, MNEK and Bobby Womack. A number of singles were released from the album prior to its release, including Bloodstream, featuring Sheeran. They have stated that they are on a mission to bring back soul into electronic music, and are quoted as saying: We arent just electronic bedroom producers, and were not just guitarists and pianists who dont know much about making a beat. Rudimentals follow-up to Home is not quite as impressive, though in fairness, most of the contributing vocalists lack the charismatic tone that John Newman brought to that debut album. Additionally, theres rather an over-reliance here on scuttling drumnbass grooves, which rather saps interest. The style does, however, suit perfectly the remix version of Ed Sheerans. Your Rating.
