Short intro

Almost Hear You Sigh is a Grammy-nominated song by The Rolling Stones from their 1989 album Steel Wheels, written by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Steve Jordan. The song was originally a contender for inclusion on Richards' first solo album, Talk Is Cheap, but he decided to play it for Jagger and Chris Kimsey the next year during recording sessions in Montserrat for the Steel Wheels album. With the exception of some lyrical alteration by Jagger, the composition was left in its original form. Rolling Stones - Almost Hear You Sigh 1989 Significance: A Grammy nominated track. The Rolling Stones came precariously close to breaking up in 1988. Mick Jagger had refused to support their last two albums, spending much of his time trying to launch a solo career. The Rolling Stones wanted to release a new album in the summer of 1981 that could get them back on the road, but they had little interest in going through the excruciating process of writing and recording yet again. The wise decision was made to create Tattoo You by simply digging through the vaults and cherry-picking the best outtakes from their 1970s albums. I can almost hear you sigh I can almost hear you cry On every crowded street All the places we would meet What will I do without you They say that life goes on Im feeling sorry for myself I cant believe youre gone You acted much too calm You turned on all your charm You had a cold look. in your eyes I can feel your tongue on mine Silky smooth like wine Im living with these memories Thats all thats left of you and me I can almost hear you sigh Almost hear you cry When you made sweet love to me And you turned on all the charm Acted much too calm You had a cold look.
