Short intro

Going Blank Again is the second studio album by British rock band Ride, released on 9 March 1992 on Creation Records. It was produced by Alan Moulder, and peaked at No. 5 in the UK Albums Chart. In October 2009 the album was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry for sales of over 100,000 units. Following Ride's 1990 debut album Nowhere, Ride released Going Blank Again as their second full-length record, accompanied by the singles Leave Them All Behind 10 February 1992 and. But rather than sink into a thick underbelly of melancholy, Going Blank Again offers sunshiney melodies and gleaming, bold production. All the band's elements are more pliable, and overall it's pretty cheery. In fact, some of the album could be loosely classified as power pop. Songs in album Ride - Going Blank Again 1992. Рок on Going Blank Again, Ride managed one thing MBV never accomplished after Loveless and probably never will: facing the crippling expectations and making a tremendous follow-up record. It might not change the narrative surrounding Ride, but hopefully it does raise the question of why Going Blank Again is assumed to be the contrarian's choice for the band's true masterpiece. Some of it is pretty understandable: Going Blank Again is a noticeably lighter affair and lacks the monolithic heft of its predecessor, which is readily apparent from their respective album art. I mean, compare. Genre: Shoegaze. Honestly my favourite Ride album, I get the cultural importance of Nowhere, but there's just something about this album that I adore. The more edgy and hard hitting guitar work in particular is what makes this album such a standout to me. Kicking off with the best track on the album, Leave them all Behind is one of Ride's longest tracks to date, clocking in at over 8 minutes in length, but it always leaves you thrilled the whole way through, mainly due to the impeccable guitars. read more. 8mo. Ride - Going Blank Again review: Going Blank Again is one of the great unheralded albums of the 1990s. No-one could describe it as a perfect album. For a start its far patchier than its predecessor: Not Fazed is an odd and skippable foray into Primal Scream country, whilst Mouse Trap is just entirely unremarkable. But the title track is a gargantuan, sprawling triumph: eight minutes of intermittent flat vocals laid over those characteristic towering interlocking guitars. Thats followed by Twisterella, the tightest and most gloriously bouncy pop song ever produced by four twenty-something who wielded their guitars as melodic bludgeons of death by sound

Mine not great. Was a sealed copy. Run in groove on side 1 jumped a few seconds into to Leave Them All Behind on every play. Disc 2 off center and a lot of wow on side 4. Disappointing.

Side C and D are both massively off-centered. Sound is good though.

The sound is indeed totally nice. I really like the way the hi-ends sound like.
But I don't know if it's just me but I'm really missing the low ends here. Also on their first LP. Correct me if I'm wrong but the mix and everything is really concentrated on the mid and hi range. Maybe it was en vouge to do it that way or it's simply part of style. Dunno.
