Red Light Company were a five-piece alternative rock band based in London, England. The band was formed in 2007 by members Richard Frenneaux vocalsguitar, Shawn Day bass, James Griffiths drums, Paul Mellon guitar and Chris Edmonds keyboards. They came together following an advert Richard posted on the internet, to which Shawn quickly responded, and moved from his home in Wyoming, United States to London in order to pursue making music with the rest of the group. The album Fine Fascination is released March Red Light Company frontman Richard Frenneaux explained this track to Clash Magazine: I had a childhood friend who committed suicide. He folded his clothes up neatly by the side of a lake, overdosed on sleeping pills, then just walked in. The song is based around a letter you would write, if you could still communicate with them, covering the denial as well as acceptance of their departure and loss.
