Re-Flex were an English new wave and synth-pop band formed in Birmingham in 1981. They are most often recognized for their hit, The Politics of Dancing, the title track from their debut album, as well as the singles Hurt, Hitline, Couldn't Stand a Day, Praying to the Beat, Sensitive, and Flex It. The band broke up in 1985. Re-Flex were formed in 1981 by musicians John Baxter on vocals and lead guitar and Paul Fishman on keyboards and backing vocals. The band's earliest line-ups also. The Politics of Dancing is the debut studio album by English band Re-Flex, recorded in late 1982 and released in November 1983 by EMI Records, and was, until September 2010, their only officially released studio album. The album itself received moderate success, charting at 34 in New Zealand, 53 in the United States, and 58 in West Germany, but the title track was a big international success and became the band's signature song, causing some to label them a one-hit wonder.
