Short intro
Radiohead: The Best Of is a greatest hits compilation of songs by the English rock band Radiohead, released on 2 June 2008 by Parlophone Records in the United Kingdom and by Capitol Records in the United States, subsidiaries of EMI. It contains songs from Radiohead's first six albums plus I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings, recorded while under contract with EMI. The compilation debuted at number 4 on the UK Albums Chart and critical reception was generally positive. Radiohead, who were not involved. Radiohead from United Kingdom. The top ranked albums by Radiohead are OK Computer, Kid A and In Rainbows. This artist is rated in the top 1 of all artists on . This Radiohead discography is ranked from best to worst, so the top Radiohead albums can be found at the top of the list. To make it easy for you, we haven't included Radiohead singles, EPs, or compilations, so everything you see here should only be studio albums. Make sure you don't just vote for critically acclaimed albums if you have a favorite Radiohead album, then vote it up, even if it's not necessarily the most popular. In Rainbows. Philip Selway, Colin Greenwood, Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Ed OBrien. Bloom shows Radiohead at their best probably not at the first listen but still but what follows it falls a bit flat at times with a few exceptions, sounds so much better live, should perhaps have included some of the great B-sides, it underwhelmed me the first I heard it and never really grew on me that much. The rest of the album is at best average, sometimes just plain bad - The Bends is clearly a much superior 'rock'n'roll' album. Amnesiac best B-Sides by far. A Moon Shaped Pool and In Rainbows are tied. Both have a flaw or two. The Bends has better songs over all. Now Radiohead are the most artistically significant band of the past two decades. Although the 1993 modern rock hit Creep may have been their formal introduction to the world and, in hindsight, not representative of them at all, the Oxfordshire five-piece didn't take long to demonstrate they were so much more. And while only one album can top the list, you could legitimately call half of them masterpieces. Next: Revisiting Radiohead's Breakthrough on 'The Bends'. Filed Under : Jonny Greenwood , Philip Selway , Radiohead , Thom Yorke. Categories : Galleries , Lists. This Album IS the best album EVER All of the songs are 5 stars and faust arp is 45 in my opinion 15 steps is awesome with that drum beat. Haven't listen to Radiohead for awhile and then I came across this album. Made relisten to their previous efforts and I was surprised that it manages to surpass some of them. If the recording process for Radioheads second album, The Bends, sounds torturous, it also sounds like how they recorded most of their other albums. The band had to take a break in the middle of the frustrating OK Computer sessions. Kid A spanned 18 months and half a dozen different studios. In Rainbows took two and a half years. Looking back at The Bends, its easy to see the blueprint for Radioheads later, wilder sounds - how a band dubbed Nirvana-lite became a genre unto itself. Theres the glacial, perfectionist pace self-analysis and self doubt the feeling of boredom with older soun. Radiohead: The Best Of is the first compilation album by Radiohead, released on 2 June 2008 by Parlophone Records in the United Kingdom and by Capitol Records in the United States. The album contains various songs from their first six studio albums. The compilation only contains songs for which EMI held the publishing rights, and so contains no songs recorded after Radioheads final studio album with EMI, Hail to the Thief. Theres nothing we can do about it. The work is really public property now anyway Its a wasted opportunity in that if wed been behind it, and we wanted to do it, then it might have been good. The Best Of Q&A. This album provides a nice overview of what Radiohead has done, with its chart-topping singles included. If you want a general overview, as one would expect from a Best Of album, this will do you well. I'm not versed in Radiohead to the extent that I would criticize the inclusion of exclusion of any particular song, but this album seems to have a number of successes. Read more. I like this CD because it reminds me of the times of the late nineties when I would listen and enjoy it then, while studying at the time, right through til now when it is timeless and can be enjoyed by other generations who are of a younger age who may not of known it on its original release date like I didRelated to Radiohead - The Best Of
