Slip is the debut studio album by American post-hardcore band Quicksand, released February 9, 1993 on the Polydor label. Omission and Unfulfilled first appeared on their 1990 self-titled EP. Slip was well received by music critics and is now considered a classic in the post-hardcore and alternative metal genres, influencing many acts including Torche and Deftones. Freezing Proces. The band's debut, Slip, relies more on metal than punk, but that makes the music all the more effective - the group's attempts at punky fury simply aren't as strong as their brutal, gut-level heavy riff-rockers. Vocalist Walter Schreifels spews out enough angst-ridden lyrics, but what is important is how his voice fits into the dense wall of sound.
