Short intro

Artifakts is the fifth studio album by Canadian electronic music producer Richie Hawtin, and his fourth studio album under the alias Plastikman. It was released on November 2, 1998 by Minus and Novamute Records. The album was devised as a way to bridge the periods between the Plastikman albums Musik and Consumed. The tracks on Artifakts were originally produced by Hawtin for an unreleased album entitled Klinik that was intended to form a trilogy with his prior albums Sheet One and Musik. Discography Plastikman aka Richiehawtin Artifakts Album 1998 Enjoy My Favorite track on this album Track 2 Psyk and track 3 Pakard thank god for the free to Plastikman Artifakts BC Korridor, Psyk and more. 8 tracks 68:11. Relatively brief and comprised of archival recordings, Artifakts is nearly as amazing as producer Richie Hawtin's other Plastikman albums and, in many ways, is perhaps the most balanced of the series. The seven tracks here consist of remnants from an abandoned Plastikman album known as Klinik. According to Hawtin's liner notes, he had intended it to follow Musik but ended up scrapping the album and releasing the Sickness single instead. Thus, the bc in Artifakts is an acronym for Before Consumed, and the seven previously unreleased tracks compiled here fall somewhere between Musik the second Plastikman album and Consumed sequentially the fourth if you're keeping track. Artifakts opens with three quiet tracks very much like what Hawtin would explore more fully on Consumed: Korridor, Psyk, and Pakard. Of these, the latter is surely an album highlight, extending over 12 minutes, led by a mesmerizing acid line which is eventually accentuated by haunting syn. Released 1998. Artifakts BC Tracklist. The cover is very similar to"Recycled Plastik", "Musik" and "Sheet one", this Album sounds better and different than those ones though. Luckily this release brings melodic and less acid musics, most of the musics will make me wander through abandoned or hidden giant Gothic catacombs/Temples surrounded with nature and peaceful atmospheres. My favorite track is "Korridor" and "Hypokondriak" is the one i less like. Overall this is a melodic and relaxing album.
