Indie Cindy. Released in April 2014, it was the band's first album since 1991's Trompe le Monde, and the first Pixies album not to feature bass guitar player Kim Deal. Instead, bass guitar duties on the album are handled by Simon Dingo Archer, a former member of the British post-punk band The Fall. Indie Cindy has hit-or-miss songs already released via digital dribbles and drabs. It's the ballads, rather than the overly shtick-laden rockers, that truly evoke the Pixies especially Greens and Blues and Andro Queen, where Frank Black travels through space to find crush-worthy alien girls. Indie Cindy is the fifth album by American alternative rock band the Pixies, and their first album in 23 years since Trompe le Monde in 1991, to be released on 28 April 2014. It features all songs from their last extended plays, called EP1, 2 and 3, produced by Gil Norton who produced Doolittle, Bossanova and Trompe le Monde. Unfortunately, Indie Cindy may make you wish the band had left well enough alone. Dubbed an album not a compilation, the record merely assembles all the tracks from EP1, EP2, and the just released, but long ago leaked, EP3.
