Short intro

The Boatlift is the third studio album by Miami rapper Pitbull. It was released on November 27, 2007. The singles are Go Girl, The Anthem, Secret Admirer, and Sticky Icky. The song Fuego Remix was featured on the video game Madden NFL 2008. The album debuted at number 50 on the Billboard 200, with sales of 32,084 copies in its first two weeks. The Boatlift garnered a positive reception from music critics. Album 2007 18 Songs. This is far from a political lecture, however. Jam-packed with guests and produced by Pitbull faves like Lil Jon and Mr. Collipark, the record overflows with hedonistic crunk anthems squarely aimed at dancefloors. Go Girl is a bumping bit of minimalist club fodder, while the frisky single The Anthem contains the album's most lasting hook. On his 2007 effort The Boatlift, Pitbull's love of club tracks and anthemic party tunes is once again tempered by some serious material, and once again the album's title references the early-'80s mass exodus of Cuban people from their homeland. This is the same formula that was used for his 2006 album, El Mariel, but here the measurements are off, with too much attention being paid to production and hooks while talent and personality get short shrift.
