Dream a Little Dream is a collaborative studio album by Pink Martini and the von Trapps, released by Heinz Records on March 4, 2014. Members of the von Trapps, a Portland-based group of descendants of the von Trapp family, include Sofia, Melanie, Amanda and August von Trapp. The album features guests Charmian Carr, Jack Hanna, The Chieftains and Wayne Newton. Three of the songs were written by August von Trapp. In 2014 it was awarded a silver certification from the Independent Music Companies. Dream a Little Dream is Pink Martinis eighth studio album and the first major international release by Sofia, Melanie, Amanda, and August von Trapp, the actual great-grandchildren of Captain & Maria von Trapp, made famous by the 1965 film The Sound of Music. These siblings have been singing together for 12 years, and have toured all over the world in concert. Drawn into the magical orbit of Thomas Lauderdale, they now live together in a house in Portland, Oregon and have been frequent guest performers with Pink Martini for the past two years.
