While the label was best known for releasing jangly pop bands like the Clean and the Bats as well as some more out-there noise rock groups such as the Dead C and Bailter Space, this EP is much different. Forth is the fourth and most recent studio album by the English alternative rock band The Verve before their third break up in 2009. It was released internationally on 25 August 2008 on EMI, and a day later in North America on the On Your Own label. The band reformed in 2007, having broken up in 1999. Forth is their first album of new material since their 1997 album Urban Hymns, and their first album since their 1995 album A Northern Soul to feature the original line-up, without their second guitarist. Phantom Forth were the brother sister-in-law team of Paul Luker Guitar, Bass, Vocals, Debbie Luker Drums, Guitar, Vocals and Lorraine Steele Keyboards, Percussion, Vocals. They formed in 1981 in Auckland, New Zealand. Early 1980, Paul had just returned from a nationwide poetry reading tour and bought a bass guitar. The EEPP was recorded in 1983 within a few weeks at Progressive Music Studios. Slated for release in February 1984, the mini-album finally appeared in November on Flying Nun Records.
