Us is the sixth studio album by the English singer-songwriter and musician Peter Gabriel, released on 28 September 1992 by Real World Records. Following the release of his soundtrack album Passion in 1989, Gabriel started work on new material for a new album, his first since So, which became his biggest selling release. Gabriel focused on personal themes on Us, including his divorce in the late 1980s, his subsequent relationship with actress Rosanna Arquette, and the growing distance between himself. Peter Gabriel is the fourth eponymous album released by English rock musician Peter Gabriel in the United States, the album was originally released under the title Security. A German-language version, entitled Deutsches Album German Album, was also released. The songs on the album cover a wide variety of subject matter. The Rhythm of the Heat is based on Carl Jung's experience while observing a group of African drummers. San Jacinto reflects on the fear and pain experienced by a Native American. Gabriels album Us from 1992 - Love, emotions, relationships. The Album and the tracks Steam and Digging in the Dirt earned 6 Grammy was a VHS and Laserdisc promo video compilation originally released in 1987. It was Peters first video compilation release and came off the back of the enormous success of the So album. All the videos from that record were present Big Time, Sledgehammer, Dont Give Up, Mercy Street and Red Rain but it also contained a couple of notable videos from previous albums Shock the Monkey and I Dont Remember. An alternate version of the Dont Give Up video, directed by Jim Blashfield, was also included. In keeping with the rest of the So album campaign the CV cover was designed by Peter Saville.
