At the time, it was the second fastest-selling album in British history, only falling behind Michael Jacksons Bad. They debuted it with an intimate gig Londons former Virgin Megastore played host as Oasis performed the album to 300 fans at midnight on 2 October 1995. but Liam was drunk. Still, the lead singer remembering all the words is a bonus, right . For such a colossal album the opening track isnt half disappointing. Of course it may not have been in 1995 the loud, pressing arrangement and bellowing calls of Hello beckoning millions of eager fans into Oasis biggest album. The song doesnt work well on its own as its simply not memorable enough despite a catchy chorus, but is not unwelcome as the front doormat of the album. Roll With It follows, a track that has later been disregarded by its author and numerous critics, despite its importance in the Blur vs Oasis 1 single battle. Nice touch.
