Originally founded by Aske Jacoby in 1979 as Aske Jacoby Band the band later changed the name to News. After recording two albums Stereo Magasin in 1981 and Sæt Sejl in 1982, Aske Jacoby and frontsinger Gitte Naur left the group. Gitte Naur was replaced by Søs Fenger who in 1988 was replaced by Nadia Stein. The group disbanded in 1994 after being a major part of what is often referred to as a golden age for danish languaged innocent pop, from the mid 80's to early 90's
