When New Order returned in 2001 with their first new record in eight years, the album they created Get Ready was given a great deal of leeway by fans if not critics. Was it original Not very. Almost as surprising as that comeback record was its follow-up, Waiting for the Sirens' Call, which arrived in 2005. If New Order's ambition was only to reinforce themselves in their fans' imaginations as members of a working band à la their contemporaries Echo & the Bunnymen or even Duran Duran, for that matter, then the album is a success. Album: Waiting For The Sirens' Call 2005. New Order's eighth studio album offers proof that after more than two decades in the trenches, rock 'n' roll is something like second nature. Yes, rock 'n' roll: Just listen to the bluesy shuffle of Working Overtime, a surprising British Invasion throwback. Elsewhere, they sound as modern as ever, with synths and dance beats driving Krafty and Morning Night and Day, but the album's beefy guitars and drums are stadium-sized. Even the club-oriented Jetstream, with its gospel-influenced vocal harmonies, sounds like they. Well... The Planet Funk remix brings out a happiness that takes me back to the days of the Technique album, making Sumner and crew appear as New Ordersome as ever - Or rather, it's good that there are remixers being able to make this band sound as good as they did on their own once. And that's VERY good. Not at all underground. But a summery levitating party good-vibe sound. ....I almost believe they WILL last forever.
The way that Planet Funk mix the guitars are huge and belongs from years of production. They carry the specifical heritage from Italian Progressive House more balearic in fact that the Uk school. Balearic ? What better for a song about Sirens? Maybee felt the specifical bass from Italian School for a perfect translation of their expression but it's a while that so bass are not played. For me the optimistic message from New Order is Present as the band was born : a redemption trough Dance Music from Joy Division.
