Street's Disciple is the seventh studio album by American rapper Nas, released as a double album on November 30, 2004 by Columbia Records. Named after one of his lyrics from Live at the Barbeque by Main Source, the album's cover art was digitally created using photos of Nas to create an adaptation of The Last Supper. Street's Disciple was well-received by critics and debuted at number 5 on the US Billboard 200, selling over 232,000 copies in its first week of sales. It was Nas's seventh consecutive. The album cover is an adaptation of Leonardo da Vincis painting The Last Supper. Nas initially planned to release a double album in 1999 with I Amthe Autobiography but changed I Am to a single disc after the album was bootlegged on the Internet. The bulk of the albums production was handled by Salaam Remi, Chucky Thompson, and . with contributions from Q-Tip and Nas himself, among others. Either way, Street's Disciple is another key album in that ongoing legacy, further evidence that Nas is back on track after falling off during the late '90s with I Am and Nastradamus. It's not a perfect album - it's far too indulgent for that - and would have been stronger as a single disc, but its ambitious sprawl makes for a powerful statement that Nas disciples will surely savor.
