Stop Draggin Me Down was one of seven Estrus releases by The Mono Men and the only studio record to feature guitarist Marc Marx Wright. There were 3000 copies of Stop Draggin Me Down pressed. For a debut album, Stop Draggin' Me Down delivers most of the powerful guitar-driven garage-rock that later Mono Men albums would have, but lacks some of the later catchy, impassioned pop vocals. Without the pop constraints, lead vocalist Dave Crider is a bit too grating, and in fact, most of the album suffers from a lack of bright spots. Dave Crider on guitar, former guitarist Marx, Ledge Morrisette on bass and Aaron Roeder on drums, rose up from the ashes of another Bellingham, Washington band, The Roofdogs. Marx left the band and John Mortensen on vocals came from the Dehumanizers and Game for Vultures before joining the Mono Men.
