Short intro
Released: 06 Apr 1999 Genre: Rock Style: Post Rock, Indie Rock , Tracklist: 00:00 Rock ,samples a speech made by Iggy Pop during an interview On Die Young is the second studio album by Scottish post-rock band Mogwai. The album was released on 29 March 1999 by Chemikal Underground. Songs for Come On Die Young were written by the band members at home or together in the rehearsal room. Wanting a sparser sound, Mogwai drew influences from Seventeen Seconds by The Cure and Spiderland by Slint as well as Low, Nick Drake and The For Carnation. The songs Christmas Steps and Ex-Cowboy had been played live by the band during the tour for. Songs in album Mogwai - Come On Die Young 1999. Mogwai - Punk Rock. Mogwai - Cody. Come on Die Young also known as CODY, is the second full-length studio album by the Scottish Instrumental rock band Mogwai, released on 29 March 1999 by Chemikal Underground. It is somewhat different from the rest of Mogwai's work because of its reserved tone. The album's second track, Cody is much more like a traditional pop song than most of the band's repertoire. Still slow and meandering, it features an uncharacteristically distinct melody, slide guitar and relatively prominent vocals. Much of Come on Die Young consists of slow, quiet, drum-driven tracks contai. On Come On Die Young, Mogwai went about becoming the most sullen, brooding post-rock band they could possibly be. Mogwai's second album, released in 1999, is getting a reissue with a bounty of bonus material that includes demos and the Travels in Constants EP. Though few of their songs contain actual words, Mogwai have always been fond of big statements. Album 1999 12 Songs. Come On Die Young. Alternative s sophomore studio album, Come On Die Young, was released on March 29th, 1999. In contrast to their bold and noisy debut Young Team, Come On Die Young is very reserved in tone, with the only song having any kind of climax being the penultimate track Christmas Steps. The only song on the album with lyrics is the track Cody. Mogwai repeat the same riffs with the same inflection, never pushing themselves toward new sonic territory, yet never hitting a mesmerizing trance. It feels like a degraded photocopy of their earlier records - it's possible to discern the initial spark that made them fascinating, but this current incarnation is too smudged and muddy to hold attention on its own terms.
