Disc producer Michal Wolski has released with label Blank Slate before, turning in four tracks of flickering techno last year on Blank Slate 008. Midnight Train, the opener on follow-up Blank Slate 011, is generously fleshed-out by comparison, with a thick rush of pads around its chiming melody and soft-thudding kicks. Magnitude returns to a minimal style, but its spare pulse is no less satisfying and alien. No Mind matches the grind of a stalling engine with high-energy percussion, and Eightfold Path, a dramatic piece that moves through several acts, finishes the EP similarly to Blank Slate 008. A full release for that label followed and Wolski has gone on to line 12s for Technosoul and Marco Shuttle's Eerie. No sooner has the latter dropped than Wolski is back in the Blank Slate bosom with a gripping four track 12 that really highlights his diversity as a producer. The midway point of lead cut Midnight Train is perhaps the deepest we've heard Wolski go, whilst Magnitude is cavernous, stripped down techno that pulls you into a real headspace. Blank Slate.
