Metro Station is the debut studio album by American pop rock band Metro Station. The album was released on September 18, 2007 under ColumbiaRed Ink. Four singles were released from the album Shake It and Seventeen Forever charted on the Billboard Hot 100. The album debuted at number 189 on the US Billboard 200, but reached a peak of 39 in June 2008. The single Shake It was certified Platinum in 2008. Metro Station was a band that started in Los Angeles, California in 2006, playing a mixture of electronic music with pop rock and powerpop styles. Originally an indie sensation, they've signed to ColumbiaRed Ink Records, and they're best known for their RIAA certified double-platinum single Shake It, which they released from their self-titled debut album, 'Metro Station', in March 2008. Popularized mainly by their co-frontman Trace Cyrus, the band has experienced a boom in their record sales. In late 2006, the band signed a recording contract with Columbia Records and RED Ink Records. The band is best known for the top 10 Billboard hit single Shake It from the group's self-titled debut album. In 2010, tension between Cyrus and Musso caused the band to go on hiatus.
