Their biggest hit was I'm Gonna Miss You, recorded in 1966. The group was formed in 1958 at Marshall High School in Chicago, Illinois with a line-up of Curt Thomas lead, Larry Johnson first tenor, Jesse Bolian second tenor June 8, 1941 August 24, 1994 and Aaron Floyd baritone bass. Billy Butler was signed to Okeh in 1963 by Carl Davis, the label's head of A&R, who saw him first as a songwriter. When Carl Davis' A&R assistant, Curtis Mayfield, became busy with his own career, and had to give up the day job Butler became useful in many other ways, Soul from The Opals 1982 Vinyl. Okeh Records was one of the highly esteemed labels for jazz, blues, country, R&B for over 50 years. He is the younger brother of Jerry Butler with whom he sometimes collaborated along with Curtis Mayfield. Mayfield supervised his first recording session at Okeh in May 1963. He was mainly active in the 1960's and 1970's. He founded the vocal groups Billy Butler & The Chanters, Billy Butler And The Enchanters, and Billy Butler And The Four Enchanters. In 1973, he released an album as a lead singer of Infinity 13, with fellow Chicago singers. In 1977, he released a solo album titled Sugar Candy Lady.
