Short intro
Mahler: Symphonie No. Gustav Mahler. Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Simon Rattle. Symphony No 10 by Gustav Mahler Revised performing version of Mahler's draft prepared 166-74 by Deryck Cooke in colaboration with Berthold No. 10 by Gustav Mahler was written in the summer of 1910, and was his final composition. At the time of Mahler's death the composition was substantially complete in the form of a continuous draft, but not fully elaborated or orchestrated, and thus not performable. Only the first movement is regarded as reasonably complete and performable as Mahler intended. Perhaps as a reflection of the inner turmoil he was undergoing at the time Mahler knew he had a failing heart and his wife had been. Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra: все альбомы, включая The Silver Violin , Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 5 , Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra: Gustav Holst: The Planets, Suite for Large Orchestra, 2000 5 Songs. By Deryck Cooke & Gustav Mahler. Symphony No. 10: II. 10: III. Purgatorio Allegretto moderato. This was one of Simon Rattle's first major recordings, made before he became music director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and it remains one of his best interpretively. He leads a viscerally exciting performance of Mahler's 10th Symphony, which incorporates some changes made to Deryck Cooke's final performing version of the unfinished score. Some of these the cymbal crash at the end of the second movement are successful, and others the extra percussion at the climax of the finale are less so. 10 Rattle, Bournemouth So By Gustav Mahler,Simon Rattle,Bourne.
