Norway's Mactatus does nothing on Suicide that would allow the black metal outfit to graduate from the genre's second tier of mostly forgettable satanic combos. While ferocious, the group's music has too many clumsy dynamic shifts and a generally muddled sound. There isn't much separation or detail to distinguish the guitars, keyboards, and the hoarse black metal screams, all of which are predictably average.
