Illuminate is the second studio album by Lydia. It was released on March 18, 2008, and reissued by October 21, 2008 on Low Altitude Records. The album was streamed entirely on on March 17, 2008. The artwork for the album was designed by and drawn by artist Becky Filip. Lydias first album, This December, Its One More And Im Free , is an immensely disappointing and annoying album. It is not because the album is completely terrible but because the band never really realizes their potential and makes the same flaws throughout the whole album. This became an extreme annoyance and problem with the album, and it was almost like Lydia was trying to be too good and too epic of a band. But I always thought if Lydia could correct the previous albums flaws: the flow, the songwriting, and if they tried to make the songs more accessible, that there next album Illuminate could be one of the surprises of the year and be a really superb album. Lydia is an indie rock band from Gilbert, Arizona, formed in 2003. They really got their start as Nextabest playing at MooseFest 2000 in Gilbert, AZ. Lydia was signed to the Arizona based record label HourZero, through which they released their debut album This December It's One More and I'm Free. Since then, they have toured extensively throughout the country and participated in the Zumiez Couch Tour, Vans Warped Tour, and The Bamboozle festival
