Lugee Alfredo Giovanni Sacco born February 19, 1943, known professionally as Lou Christie, is an American singer-songwriter best known for several pop hits in the 1960s, including his 1966 number one hit Lightnin' Strikes. Christie was born Lugee Alfredo Giovanni Sacco on February 19, 1943, in Glenwillard, Pennsylvania, and grew up in suburban Pittsburgh. While attending Moon Area High School, he studied music and voice, served as student conductor of the choir and sang solos at holiday concerts. Lou Christie - Lou Christie. However, Christie keeps things in his trademark style by starting the song in a half-whispered croon and but delivering the chorus in a semi-operatic style and deploying his famous falsetto near the end of the song. The result was a satisfying pop tune with a rock edge. Indian Lady didnt break the pop charts top-100 but managed to climb into the top-40 area of the adult contemporary char.
