Kristin Hayter born 1986 is an American classically trained multi-instrumentalist originally from Southern California and currently residing in Rhode Island. In 2017, she self-released two albums-Let the Evil of His Own Lips Cover Him and All Bitches Die-under the moniker Lingua Ignota Latin for unknown language. Through word-of-mouth, Hayter's music caught the attention of Profound Lore Records, who re-issued All Bitches Die and released her third studio album Caligula in 2019. She draws on her. Lingua Ignota does a really good job with their side. I love covers, and these 2 in particular make a lot of sense for her. I hadn't heard Jolene before and I might be a Dolly Parton fan soon. If The Rita's goal was for this release is to create a track that would break my needle, than it was close enough for me to consider it a success. The note that there was use of a violin playing Stravinsky as a sample read as very interesting, possibly exciting. Lingua Ignota. SUFFERING AND WOE . July 7 at 3:53 PM . Delighted and honored to be included in the Sargent House Black Lives Matter raffle at last. I am contributing a CALIGULA test press as well as an assortment of artifacts from the artwork for the record and the surrounding portraits and still life pieces, all of which are significant to me personally. Including the original photo from my first communion in 1994, and my first communion rosary ring. June 28 at 12:00 PM . Our 3rd LP from THE RITA, COMMISSIONED is a split LP with the A-side belonging to LINGUA IGNOTA. Stripped down piano and vocals renditions of Scott Walker's Girls From The Streets and Dolly Parton's Jolene mark a departure from her previous works. On the opposite side THE RITA deconstructs works by Igor Stravinsky played by Mallory Linehan, continuing down the path of ballet obsession explored in recent years. Ongoing collaborations with THE RITA explore notions of embodiment and disembodiment, obsess. Ongoing collaborations with THE RITA explore notions of embodiment and disembodiment, obsession and worship, creation and obliteration. COMMISSIONED is what we asked of each IGNOTA, the solo project of multidisciplinary artist Kristin Hayter, takes a radical, unflinching approach to themes of violence and vengeance in ways that are moving, brutal, and harrowing. Her music is intentionally situated at specific and strange intersections, incorporating elements of power electronics, death industrial, and black metal alongside baroque classical, spiritual minimalism and folk. Lingua Ignota does a really good job with their side. I love covers, and these 2 in particular make a lot of sense for her. I hadn't heard Jolene before and I might be a Dolly Parton fan soon. Scott Walker's "The Girls From The Streets" is such an obvious choice for her that one could almost believe he wrote it with her in mind. Love it.I generally think I enjoy "noise" artists and like anything; some more than others. Some years back, much to my embarrassment, I talked though an opening artists set at a experimental/noise show because I just thought he was having problems with his equipment and was just testing everything. The Rita barely sounds intentional, with no structure, no developments or changes, this side B could hardly be called 2 tracks. If The Rita's goal was for this release is to create a track that would break my needle, than it was close enough for me to consider it a success. The note that there was use of a violin playing Stravinsky as a sample read as very interesting, possibly exciting. Maybe my ears are dead but there was nothing left that even hinted of violin after the block noise. I have bought records before that have disappointed me, but from time to time I would try them out again to see if I had grown into them yet. And despite the idea that it might be a "waste" I can't imagine playing Side B again. Perhaps I am missing the point... It does make me think of Reinhardt. I am curious what else The Rita has to offer.
