To be honest, Lindstrom and Todd Terje are truly professionals when it comes to making groovy spacey disco music, but, to my ears, this release just doesn't reach the high standards of the artists' past releases. Don't get me wrong: "Lanzarote" starts almost flawlessly, with a shower of happy melodies soon following, but after the 5 minute mark, it stops building, and it begins to being stripped down, to the point of reaching silence by a fade out. I mean, the first part it's exiting, but the lack of recapitulation makes part two somewhat boring. Also, the vocals "I wanna go to Lanzarote" are kinda cheesy, and they repeat again and again until the track ends. Not a great way to finish a track, in my opinion.Maybe I am expecting too much, but compared with other masterpieces like "It's the Arps EP" or "Rà-àkõ-st", it has the same feeling, but lacks something. Maybe it's the arrangement or the structure, but one thing is clear: The melodies and harmonies are truly phenomenal, classic trademarks of Terje and Lindstrom. In short, it's a nice track, but next to the inmortal "Inspector Norse" or "Rà-àkõ-st", it's some steps behind.Something to notice: The DiskJokke Remix improves the track by working the flaws i pointed above, giving it a more balanced structure, and removing the cheesy vocals. However, it's a little more laid-back and less punchy than the original mix. Still an enjoyable listen.

Yes you are right. It would be perfect if there was second build-up after the vocals, even if the track would be over ten minutes long then. Even more disturbing is that at the very end there actually IS another melody for about three seconds. Maybe someone brings out a more straight forward bootleg someday.
