Short intro
The Pursuit of Accidents is the third studio album released by the jazzfunk British musical group Level 42, in 1982. It was issued on CD in 1985. It was re-issued on CD in 2000 as part of a two disc set with the album Standing In The Light, and again in 2007 as a stand-alone disc. The album reached 17 on the UK album charts. The album features three singles. The first single Are You Hearing What I Hear peaked at 49 the second, Weave Your Spell, peaked at 43. The Pursuit of Accidents. Although they didn't really begin to have dancepop hits until later in the '80s, the English group Level 42 provided some fine performances on this album. While vocals weren't their strong suit, they did a reasonable job of harmonizing and at least getting through the melodies, while the production and arrangements helped embellish and compensate for their singing inadequacies. Although such groups as the Pet Shop Boys and even Thompson Twins do this type of thing better, Level 42 at least isn't irritating or self-indulgent. The Pursuit of Accidents was Level 42's 2nd release, and as a musician and fan of Level 42 who owns virtually every recording they made, I can confidently say that this album exemplifies their funky, groovy style. Bassist Mark King is without doubt the most talented singerbass player in pop music. Their songs are very well crafted tuneful, groovy and lyrically thought provokingRelated to Level 42 - The Pursuit Of Accidents
