Laurence Crane born 1961 in Oxford is a composer of contemporary classical music. Laurence Crane is closely associated with the ensemble Apartment House, who have given over 40 performances of his works. Some performances they have given include has written Riis 1996 and John White in Berlin 2003. He has written a considerable amount of piano music. Pianists who have performed his work include Michael Finnissy, Thalia Myers and John Tilbury. Cikada Ensemble's first release on LAWO Classics, Drones, Scales and Objects, consists of contemporary chamber music by acclaimed British composer Laurence Crane. The Norwegian ensemble started performing Crane's music in 2011, and the result of their successful collaboration is presented on this CD. About the album.
