Kiss started recording Music From the Elder in March 1981, working in Toronto, New York City and guitarist Ace Frehley s home studio in Wilton, Conn. To my knowledge this is a fairytale. The album marked a substantial departure from their previous output with its concept and orchestral elements. Music from The Elder is the ninth studio album released by American rock band Kiss on the Casablanca Records label in 1981. Only problem is, he'd just gotten done with Pink Floyd 's massive and massively successful concept album 'the Wall,' and somehow got it in his head that Kiss could do the same kind of project.
