Taken from her Kite album, 'Days' is one of the finest examples of Kirsty's incredible skill at creating multi-layered. Salvo has reissued several Kirsty MacColl albums plus A Concert for Kirsty MacColl from the Shepherd' Anna MacColl 10 October 1959 18 December 2000 was a British singer and songwriter. She recorded several pop hits in the 1980s and 1990s, including There's a Guy Works Down the Chip Shop Swears He's Elvis and cover versions of Billy Bragg's A New England and The Kinks' Days. Her song They Don't Know was covered with great success by Tracey Ullman. Kirsty came from a showbiz background, as she was the daughter of folk singer Ewan MacColl and dancer Jean Newlove. Kirsty MacColl began her music career as backing vocalist Mandy Doubt for local punk band The Drug Addix and was later signed by Stiff Records as a soloist. Her debut single for the label in 1979 was the self-penned They Dont Know, a song which Tracey Ullman would turn into a Number 2 smash with MacColl on backing vocals a few years later.
