Short intro
Absent Lovers: Live in Montreal is a live album 2-CD set by the band King Crimson, recorded 11 July 1984, and released in 1998. This was taken from the final night of their 1984 tour and would subsequently be King Crimson's last performance until the warm-up shows in Argentina ten years later for the later-to-be-released album THRAK. All lyrics are written by Adrian Belew all music is composed by Adrian Belew, Bill Bruford, Robert Fripp and Tony Levin, unless otherwise indicated. Absent Lovers 1998 presents the July 11, 1984 parting performance at the Spectrum in Montreal, Quebec in its entirety. As the show was simulcast on FM radio, decent sounding copies have been traded amongst the faithful for years, although not in such stunning fidelity or completeness. While the contents draw primarily from the Discipline 1981, Beat 1982 and Three of a Perfect Pair 1984 long-players, the quartet likewise dip into the vintage Krim catalog. Complete your King Crimson collection. comentando Absent Lovers Live In Montreal 1984, CD, Enh CD Album, DGM9804. What a blast. This show is all they said it was, plus more. Then you'd be even more surprised to hear how clear, enthusiastic, and happy it all sounds together, probably to finish the 1984 tour with a superb last lap. Absent Lovers does the 80s line-up of King Crimson more justice than any compilationbest-of album could ever do. But most fans who buy this 2-disc set will enjoy only the music, as Robert Fripp's long-winded liner notes yet again describe the business scams of the band's former label E. something Fripp has difficulty letting go of, and are full of his boasting about the ethics and practices of the new Discipline label, which the guitarist seems. Have to be honest I was only a Adrian belew era fan of king crimson Ya know Discipline, Beat and Three of a perfect pair so this live cd suited me just fine pretty awesome Read more. 2 people found this helpful. Absent Lovers is taken from the 1980s incarnation of the band's final performance in Montreal. It is often regarded as one of the band's finest live recordings. The material performed is mostly taken from the band's 1980s material, although there are one improvisation and two instrumentals from the band's 1970s catalogue. Strangely, the song from which the album takes its name, Neal and Jack and Me, isn&ap. Live album 1998. Filed under Jazz Related Rock By KING CRIMSON.
