Face the Nation is the third album by hip-hop duo Kid 'n Play. It was released on September 24, 1991, on Select Records and produced by Eric Quicksilver Johnson, Christopher Play Martin, Pete Rock and Hurby Luv Bug. The album was a critical and commercial failure, making it to 144 on the Billboard 200 and 27 on the Top R&BHip-Hop Albums. However, it featured the hit single Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody which made it to 1 on the Hot Rap Singles and 51 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was one of the. Kid 'n Play's final album, Face the Nation, simply doesn't feel as effervescent as 2 Hype or Funhouse. That's partly because the duo tries to get more serious and substantive in their lyrical content, much as House Party 2 suddenly developed a social conscience that left fans scratching their heads. Despite its admirable intentions, Face the Nation gets a little preachy at times.
