Una Mas, on the front cover titled Una Mas One More Time, is a jazz album by trumpeter Kenny Dorham and his quintet, released in 1963 on Blue Note as BLP 4127 and BST 84127. The album would be the next-to-last studio session led by the trumpeter, since after 1964, he began to fade and disappear from the jazz scenes. Una Mas features three compositions by Dorham himself and the jazz ballad If Ever I Would Leave You, originally composed by LoeweLerner for the musical Camelot. Album 2013 4 Songs. Jazz 2013. However, many top young players benefited from playing in his groups, and for proof one need look no further than the lineup on this 1963 CD reissue: tenor-saxophonist Joe Henderson, bassist Butch Warren, and before either player joined Miles Davis pianist Herbie Hancock and drummer Tony Williams. Even if the playing time under 37 minutes is a bit brief, the explorative yet swinging music lives up to its potential. Track Listing. One more time, I always thought just one more as Una Mas is that when translated but no matter it still is just another great album from Kenny Dorham. Tad short I have to admit running for around 32 minutes with only three compositions included but quality is all high standard with all the compositions written by Kenny Dorham. Joe Henderson on tenor saxophone makes his very first Blue Note recording here as it was Kenny who introduced him to the label. Herbie Hancock, on piano is still in his early twenties and had only done the one album Takin.
