She was activ in the 60s student movement and began performing in the Berlin cabaret scene at the end of the 60s with Insterburg & Co. In the 70s she was married with her manager and producer Christian Bruhn, who wrote a lot of german pop hits for her. Today she is performing chansons and poems by Heinrich Heine, Kurt Tucholsky and Bertolt Brecht.
