Cerberus is an amazing contribution to John Zorns Book of Angels series. The Spike Orchestra plays red hot big band, so this will appeal to Zornians that appreciate real jazz. The boisterous album starts off strong with Gehegial. As would be expected, the smokin hot brass section is in the drivers seat. The music here is all from John Zorns Masada Book Two, Book of Angels Volume 26. Once again, the band brings its genre-bending skills to bear on these wonderful tracks.
