Short intro

Some Time in New York City is a part-studio, part-live double album by John Lennon & Yoko Ono, with the American rock band Elephant's Memory & Invisible Strings. Released in June 1972 in the US and in September 1972 in the UK on Apple Records, it is Lennon's third post-Beatles solo album. Like Lennon's previous solo albums, it was co-produced by Lennon, Ono and Phil Spector. The album's lyrics are very politically charged compared to its predecessors, discussing political and social issues and topics. But here Lennon and Yoko, accompanied by New York's Elephant's Memory, sing and scream freely against sexism in Woman Is the Nigger Of The World and Sisters, O Sisters. They protest incarceration in John Sinclair, Attica State, and Born In A Prison, colonialism in Sunday Bloody Sunday and The Luck Of The Irish, and racism in Angela. The richness of Phil Spector's production fills out the danceable grooves on nearly every track. Vocals Yoko Ono. Vocals, Guitar John Lennon. Vocals, Percussion Bonnie Bramlett tracks: 2-1, 2-2. 2xLP originally released on Apple in 1972 as PCSP 716. Штрих-код и другие идентификаторы. Barcode: 0 7777-93850-2 7. However, when he released Some Time in New York he ripped Frank Zappa off. Much of this is from a performance done with Zappa's band the mothers of invention. Zappa made Lennon a copy of the show so they each would have one. Zappa released his version in the 90's. According to Frank Zappa, many of these songs were old Mothers tunes he had written and were on previous Zappa records. I guess Zappa didn't like having someone else st.
