Its languorous orchestration is delivered with a good deal of restraint, to convey the mystery, uncertainty, and sometimes unease of a melodramatic film about the discovery of extraterrestrial life. The Extra-Terrestrial as it was and still is one of my favorite movies. I remember going to see it on opening day and being in a line that wrapped around the was great. Some of the best work of John Williams. The whole album fits perfectly together guiding you through a range of emotions, it's truly a film score that works well through all the individual little pieces.
