John Lee Hooker Coahoma County, Mississippi, August 22, 1917 Los Altos, California, June 21, 2001 was a highly influential American blues singer, guitarist and songwriter. John Lee Hooker could be said to embody his own unique genre of the blues, often incorporating the boogie-woogie piano style and a driving rhythm into his masterful and idiosyncratic blues guitar and singing. His best known songs include Boogie Chillen 1948 and Boom Boom 1962. There is some debate as to the year of John Lee Hooker's birth, 1915, 1917, 1920, and 1923 have all b read more. Hooker's primitive gutbucket electric guitar is the main ingredient here, and it is his hard-edged boogie playing that fuels the fire. Though somewhat less of a growl than on later recordings, Hooker's voice is no less soulful or urgent. It seethes with dark energy on such cuts as Heart Trouble Blues and the pulsing Nightmare Blues. This work is vintage electric-blues, as cuts like Thinking Blues and Blue Guitar Blues will attest. Album 1960 16 Songs. Блюз 1960. Wandering BluesRelated to John Lee Hooker - Sings Blues
