Heavy Horses is the eleventh studio album by British progressive rock band Jethro Tull, released on 10 April 1978. It is considered the second album in a trilogy of folk-rock albums by Jethro Tull, the first and third being Songs from the Wood 1977 and Stormwatch 1979, although folk music's influence is evident on a great number of Jethro Tull releases. Текст песни: An Octobers day, towards evening Sweat embossed veins standing proud to the plough Salt on a deep chest seasoning Last of the line at an honest days Horses was the first album Jethro Tull recorded at Maison Rouge, a new studio Ian Anderson built in 1977, not to be confused by La Maison Rouge Mobile, a recording studio built inside a Mercedes truck he built in 1975. The mobile unit, like the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio, was used to record in remote locations, such as Monte Carlo, where the band recorded the albums Minstrel in the Gallery and Too Old to Rock n Roll: Too Young to Die . The album abandons much of the folk lyrical content typical of the previous studio album, Songs from the Wood, in exchange for a more realist perspective on the changing world. Jethro Tull's 11th studio album, Heavy Horses, is one of their prettier records, a veritable celebration of English folk music chock-full of gorgeous melodies, briskly played acoustic guitars and mandolins, and Ian Anderson's flute lilting in the background, backed by the group in top form. This record is a fairly close cousin to 1977's Songs From the Wood, except that its songs are decidedly more passionate, sung with a rough, robust energy that much of Tull's work since Thick as a Brick had been missing, and surpassing even Aqualung in its lustiness. No Lullaby". Jethro Tull - Heavy Horses 1978. Tull - Heavy Horses review: One of Jethro Tull's best works and one of the most unfairly unrecognized albums ever recorded. Heavy Horse's greatest strength is the marvelous songwriting, as the album is filled with the perfect examples of folk music at it's best. A fine example of this is the closing song, Weathercock. The song is built around a simple vocal melody, originally starting with just a mandolin accompanying Ian's voice, but soon enough, Martin Barre's mellow guitar is introduced. Then, drums reminiscent of civil war-era military music join in, along with a melodic baseline. Finally, Ian's flute enters, leading the song into pure blissRelated to Jethro Tull - Heavy Horses
